Bethelene is a Parenting & Childcare Expert with over 30 years of experience supporting families, educators, and schools across Canada. She’s worked as a Special Needs Resource Educator at the Child Development Institute, consulted with hundreds of schools and daycares, and leads workshops on emotional connection, child behavior, and relationship-based parenting. She’s also the author of The Magic Pee and Other Surprises and Ben’s Big Feelings in a Little Body—two children’s mental health books that help parents teach emotional literacy through everyday stories. Her work emphasizes building trust, validating children's feelings, and fostering positive behaviors through empathy and understanding.
After being misdiagnosed as a child and placed in a remedial class where no one believed in her potential, Bethelene returned to school as a mature student, graduated with honours, and became the advocate she needed growing up. Today, she speaks on stages, leads workshops, and supports families with real, relatable tools that transform how we raise and connect with kids.

Testimonials
"Bethelene Hart has been my go-to source for understanding, supporting and guiding children's behaviour both for parents and professionals. She has the ability to make connections and build a common understanding based on her deep knowledge and her personal experiences. She brings stories of raising her own children to bring to life different approaches and/or common misunderstandings around development and behaviour. She is not speaking at you but instead speaking with you - encouraging active participation and problem-solving. Bethelene is non-judgemental and is a supportive ally of improving the lives of many children and families. I have learned so much from watching her guide others and myself. She is among the best behaviour and development speakers for parents and front-line professionals that I have come across."
“Bethelene was an excellent support. She came in to work with us at a very trying time and calmly helped us to navigate by providing advice, resources and tools. We saw sustained progress as a result of her work and are very grateful!”
My Books
The Magic Pee and Other Surprises is a fun illustrated children’s book for toilet learning/training without shaming. The term “grown-up” is used instead of “parent” to include a variety of family constellations and caregivers. The story is based on personal experience when the author, Bethelene Hart was teaching her own toddler to use the potty. As a childcare professional, Ms. Hart didn’t like the traditional way toileting was explained using the word “accident" and came up with the terms surprise and magic pee instead. The story is humorous and sensitive to a child learning a new skill.
The author’s second illustrated children's book, Ben's Big Feelings in a Little Body, has launched. Validating and accepting big feelings without judgement allows children to move through their feelings without feeling shame or bad about themselves. This is a true story about a day Ben had big feelings in a little body.
